AARP Safe Driving Course with Archie Fallis
The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation’s first and largest course for drivers age 50 and older. The program has helped millions of drivers protect their safety on today’s roads. Tune up your driving skills and update your knowledge of the rules of the road, learn defensive driving techniques, discover ways to handle left turns, right-of-way, highway traffic and blind spots and much more. Art for the Heart

Local artist Caroline Duvoe teaches her students a fast and easy technique called “Action Painting,” a style that provides instant gratification as well as a creative outlet.  In Caroline’s class you will meet new people in a casual and fun environment and learn that, contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to spend years learning how to become an artist.  Caroline’s personal vision is to promote healthy expression of emotional energy through the creation of art.  Beginning January 23rd, classes will be held every Monday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the St. Pete Beach Community Center and Aquatic Complex, 7701 Boca Ciega Drive.  Classes are just $15.00 each or $50.00 for an entire month.  Contact Caroline directly to get additional information on materials and to enroll in the class: 727-647-8294 or studioduvoe@yahoo.com.

Body Overhaul with Carol Macik
A program suitable for Seniors, those new/returning to a fitness program, or those who need an assist with injury recovery and   prevention.  Includes a warm-up, muscle strengthening utilizing a chair, a low impact aerobic workout, and a stretch finale, all while having a great time in a mutually supportive environment.  Begin class at any time to improve posture and balance, flexibility, mobility, and decreasing stress while increasing strength.  Mondays and Thursdays, 9:30am-10:30am.  $6.00 per class.  Contact Carol Macik at 864-4834.  **HELD AT THE WARREN WEBSTER BUILDING IN PASS-A-GRILLE**

Chair Yoga for Everyone

Those of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this gentle yoga class and improve flexibility and enjoy all of the health benefits of yoga.  Classes are offered Wednesdays from 10a-11a and cost $7.00 each.  Interested participants must call and pre-register prior to attending class.  Contact Joyce Bloom at 345-0679.

Duplicate Bridge

Hatha Yoga with Roger Rugletic

Improve flexibility and balance, tone muscles, and enhance your overall physical and mental wellbeing!  Learn relaxation breathing proven to reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure, and calm the mind.  Monday nights from 6p-7p.  $7.00 per class.

Hawaiian Dance with Carol Macik
Experience the enchantment of Hawaii through traditional island dancing.  Learn the footwork and hand motions.  Together, these fluid movements follow the rhythm of the music and express the lyrics of a song.  If you enjoy this class and would like to dance professionally with the Florida Beach Girls, we would love to have you join us. Integrative Relaxation {Yoga Nidra}

Kickboxing with Hyde Tae Kwon Do
Are you looking for a total body workout that totally kicks butt? How about a way to increase your      stamina, flexibility, and strength? Line Dance with Carol Macik

Social Mah Jongg is held every Thursday from 1:00pm – 4:00pm.  Bring your own playing materials.

Non-Fiction Writing Workshop I

Essays and Memoirs and Blogs…Oh My!  Join us as we learn new concepts in non-fiction writing each week and practice putting those skills to work. Whether you are interested in becoming a local reporter, creating a family memoir, starting a blog, documenting your travels or pursuing any other form of non-fiction writing, this workshop is for you!   This course is offered Tuesdays, 6:30p-8:00p or Thursdays, 9:30am-11:00am.   $60.00 per 10 week session:  Tuesday classes run from 2/21 – 4/24  and Thursday classes run from 2/23 – 4/26.  To register contact Donna Parry at 727-360-6059.

Pickleball

Played in our indoor gymnasium 5 days a week!  Monday: 6-8p, Tuesday-Friday: 9:30a-12:30p.  $2.00 per player.  Come join the fun!!

Self-Defense for Women

This new and exciting program, Self Defense for Women, focuses on the positive development of core competencies and confidence. This simple, yet effective program can help you avoid “becoming a victim”. We will explore how best to use your size to your advantage, develop defensive strikes, kicks and escape maneuvers. We will also practice the use of everyday items (handbags, shoes, keys, etc.) for self-protection, and important lessons in learning avoidance of potential situations. The small class size will offer personalized one on one attention, helping to identify what works best for each individual. St. Pete Beach Fit Club

Come try out the St. Pete Beach Fit Club every week ABSOLUTELY FREE.  This program features the most popular workouts from P90X, Insanity, TurboFire, and various other workouts.  Follow along to the videos as instructors keep you pumped and motivated.  After each class participants will get to try various samples of Shakeology and other BeachBody recovery and nutrition products.  Free nutrition counseling, daily meal plans and more are always available by working with the coaches.  Parents can bring the kid who will participate in their own workout sessions in an adjoining room.  Wednesday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, FREE!  Contact Shannon Fleming, 599-8934

Step-N-Swing Dance Aerobics & Sport Walking

Class utilizes the BODY BAT Aerobic Exerciser, which is a balanced walking adjunct that resembles two baseball bats joined together end-to-end.  The BODY BAT is swung from side to side in a ‘pendulum motion’ and in sync with each step.  The BODY BAT Aerobic Exerciser has been medically endorsed and can be used by patients with arthritis, orthopedic, cardiac and other physical disabilities.  In addition to using BODY BAT as a walking adjunct, Ms. Karin, a former ballroom medallist and Creator of STEP-N-SWING, has combined use of the BODY BAT with her dance expertise. From Rumba to Line Dance, STEP-N-SWING promises fun, fitness and five thousand steps in fifty minutes.  Classes are offered Tuesdays and fridays from 11a to noon and cost $7.00 per class.  Participants must pre-register.  Contact karin Globis at 480-1217.

Strengthen and Lengthen (Pilates) with Kim Roper
Taught by an instructor who has been teaching for the city of St Pete Beach for the last 10 years.  Class combines basic Pilates using mats, weights and balls.  Stretch every muscle of your body as well as strengthen your core.   Monday, Wednesday and Saturday,  8:00a- 9:00a at the Warren Webster Building (PAG).  $4.00 per class

Stress Busters, Stress Management and Relaxation

Instructor Betty Havey will teach you the skills needed to manage your stress and help yourself relax.  This seminar is held every other Tuesday from 10a-11a and costs $40.00 per series.  Must call and pre-register for the series.  Contact Betty Havey at 642-6049.

Stretch And Strong Yoga with Noa Spector-Flock
Noa’s background is in yoga, Feldenkrais, dance, and massage therapy.  For more than two generations Noa has been studying the body.  She has a teaching degree in dance and a masters degree in education.  Noa has taught 16 years in Pinellas County Center for the Arts as well as for several years at USF.   Thursdays 9:30a-10:45a.  $9.00 per class.  Contact Noa at 345-2570, noanik@gmail.com.

Sunrise Table Tennis Club

Tai Chi Easy – “Heal yourself with Qigong”

Tai Chi Easy combines the easy to learn ancient practice of tai chi and Qigong. Toning and Fat Burning with Helle Hartley

“unsafe at any speed”
This is a recreational, social and fitness oriented group.  The group leaves from various locations.
